Weekly Update – Big Ball of Mess

Standard

So in case you wondering how my massively delayed Christmas Presents are going:

Image

Yup. A few days ago I noticed a pretty major mistake and had a frog a whole ball’s worth of yarn to fix it. So my week was spent back tracking and just this very moment I am caught up to where I was ._. I hope my friends wanted their presents in March. UGH.

I want nothing more than to cross stitch right now. I’m so over crocheting.

Weekly Update – Weird Week

Standard

It feels so weird to be posting right now because I had to work. I don’t normally work on Sundays so it really fells like Monday to me. Also weird this week is that I’m going on vacation from Wednesday – Sunday so I wouldn’t expect posts from me. I may pop in for a post or two but don’t expect them! Onto the crafting!

First up is the Spaced Cross Stitch. Not a lot of progress this week because I’ve switched over to trying to finish crocheted Christmas Presents first but here’s what’s goin’ on:

Image

Next up is a preview of the crochet I’m working on. It is a Christmas present so I don’t want to just plaster it over the site so this is proof that I am crafting, really:

If I don’t post later this week I hope you all have a great week 🙂 I know I will!

Weekly Update – A Couple of Projects!

Standard

This week not only do I have the Spaced Cross Stitch to share with you but a shawl/scarf that I have started for a friend’s Christmas present.

First up, the scarf!

Image

It’s not the best photo, nor is it even where I am currently but I just had to share because of the yarn. Oh my! This yarn! It’s beautiful and so soft! It’s Knit Picks Stroll Fingering in Canopy Tonal. Amazing. I’m hoping to have left overs to make myself something with it!

And onto the Cross Stitch!

Image

As you can see, I’ve gotten a TON of work done on this (Thanks, binge watching episodes of Doctor Who!) I’m always working on it up so close and in such a small section sometimes I’m surprised to see how much it’s come together from week to week. Tim’s eyebrows and part of his eye are making an appearance! And I’ve started the “D” in Spaced! It’s looking great, if I may toot my own horn!

Weekly Update – Owl Hat!

Standard

Image

You guys! I finished the owl hat! I made some modifications to the brim. It was supposed to have ribbed brim but it made the hat way too tight for any human being to wear. It was also way too long that way too. Instead, after the final line of the chart I just added two lines of single crochet in the dark brown and called it done! Well, after I tried the ribbing and realized it was wrong and frogged it and then did it correctly and then realized it was unwearable. I only wasted like 2.5 hours guys! The upside is that 2.5 hours is at least 6 episodes of New Girl!

But it’s done! And it’s going to it’s new owner tomorrow and then maybe I’ll cross stitch once again!

Weekly Update – My Bad.

Standard

I realize I forgot to put up a Friday Grab Bag. I went up to Asheville, NC this weekend and realized Thursday night I hadn’t packed anything so by time I finished I forgot all about putting up a blog post. I feel kind of bad but I had a really great time in Asheville so I got over it 😉

Image

While in Asheville we stopped in a cute little yarn store. I wasn’t planning on buying anything but then I saw their adorable Doctor Who display and I knew I had to support them! Just look at the little Daleks!

Image

This is the yarn I ended up buying.  I got two skeins and it will end up a scarf, I believe.Image

Presenting one finished Nanoblock set! TA-DA! It looks amazing and it was a lot of fun to build. Up next I plan on finishing my Lego Millennium Falcon! These pictures also make me realize I should take better pictures but I’m lazy, don’t want to have to leave my desk area and never think to take pictures when there’s natural lighting. You’ll just have to deal, I suppose.

Image

Here’s the completed set with a Coke can for size reference. 1500 pieces and just barely taller than the can!

Image

Finally, the owl beanie.  I’m chugging right along.  I’m having so much fun working on this that I still haven’t worked on the Spaced Cross Stitch. I have got to get back to working on that. I’ve just been in more of a crochet mood and I have not one but two great video games I’m playing right now. I’m just going to keep making excuses to feel better.

Anyway! I may not have cross stitched but I am getting work done on crafts so I can’t be too mad at myself!

TV Wednesday – Wakko Amigurumi

Standard

I am on an amigurumi kick this week! There are just so many awesome ones out there! Today is no exception:

Image

It’s Wakko Warner by BunnieBard on the Crafster Forums!

I loved The Animaniacs when I was little and they still hold up really well today (I own season 1 on DVD).

Wheel of Morality turn turn turn what is the lesson we shall learn?

Video Game Tuesday – Plant Vs. Zombies Amigarumis

Standard

Ugh. Going back to work after vacation is the worst. But I survived the first day back whether I liked it or not.

Anyway, I have something adorable to share with you all today. Plant vs. Zombies crocheted plants:

These guys are by Etsy seller Komang Darmiani. Unfortunately they are no longer listed but I’m sure I couldn’t afford them. I am glad I get to look at them though. SO CUTE. Look at that Corn!

Monday Grab Bag? – Hot Air Balloon Amigarumi!

Standard

I know that Mondays are usually reserved for catching up on everything I’ve been working on for the last week but since I was out of town for the last week there isn’t much to share! Therefore, I thought instead of leaving you empty handed I would just have two grab bags in one week!

How about a little, crocheted hot air balloon for your Lego Minifigs? NeedleNoodle‘s got ya covered! The pattern is available for purchase. Your Minifigs will be up and out of here before you know it!
