Flight of the Conchords Stitch.

Posted by Stephanie on April 15, 2010

Wow, long time no post! I didn’t think anybody out there was reading but then I got a comment from Gamer Grrlz that made me feel loved so now I am back!

For my first post back I bring you a bit of cross stitch joy from one of my favorite shows, Flight of the Conchords.

I bring you the Binary Solo! I made this for a friend for Christmas. I am quite pleased even though I know there should be a “0000001111″ row. But to be fair, they repeat the solo a second time and only go through “111″ =p

My favorite part of this stitch? Totally the robot font ;)

Cross Stitch Chuck Norris.

Posted by Stephanie on October 25, 2009

It’s been over two months since I last posted and I’ll pretend that my excuse is that I was working hard finishing THE Chuck Norris cross stitch. That’s right! It’s finished. It took me nearly 2 years (a year and 10 months) to finish. How embarrassing. But I can’t say it wasn’t a lot of work. It’s nearly 8″x10″ and 23,427 stitches. I now present to you: Chuck Norris on a Total Gym…cross stitched!

Finished in Frame:

There you have it. Now I always feel like there’s something I should be working on, but there just isn’t. Ah well. Probably start a new cross stitch project soon enough :)

Tanooki Mario.

Posted by Stephanie on August 7, 2009

Hey you guys out there! Sorry for being absent so much lately. I was busy packing up and moving into a new apartment. I’m all moved in, far from being all unpacked but settled enough to, hopefully, show up here more often.

As soon as I saw this amigarumi Mario over at Sprite Stitch I had to stop what I was doing (admittedly, not much) and post right away.

Is he not adorable? Sadly the page where he’s originally from is not in English so I don’t know who to credit :( But props to who ever it was! TOO CUTE!

EDIT: Creator Michelle Rheaume has even more Mario’s for sale in her Etsy store! :) CHECK IT OUT!

Luna Lovegood Scarf.

Posted by Stephanie on July 22, 2009

IT’S DONE! Oh man. This was quite the scarf. I tend to get easily bored with projects, yet I love to be ambitious and start crazy big projects too. I tend to go back and forth and back and forth between projects and starting new ones, but I try to be fair and show equal love to my large projects that I sometimes forget. Having said that, I think it’s impressive that I finished this behemoth of a scarf in 2 months.

Based off Luna Lovegood’s scarf in one of the Harry Potter movies (don’t hate me for not knowing which one) I made this wonderful scarf for a friend of mine out of incredibly soft bamboo yarn. The pattern used can be found here.

Now onto the pictures!:

Beddy Tear sports the oh so stylish scarf.

And finally, just to show you how massive the thing was.

I can tell you this scarf went to a good home and the new owner loved it :) I also made a headband inspired by this pattern but I didn’t get pictures :( However, I loved how it turned out so much I will be making more!

Hectic.

Posted by Stephanie on July 16, 2009

Hello, long time no blog. Life has been hectic in my world. I’m getting ready to move in a couple weeks. Which means a lot of packing and cleaning. Also, recently, my job has switched to a 10 hour a day, 4 days a week job. Which basically means I only have 3 days a week to work on anything, ever. ARGH!

On the crafting front, I’m almost done with a fairly large project. I can’t wait to show you all! :) Probably be up tomorrow night, if all goes well :)

Also, don’t forget! Visit my Etsy shop! I hope to get some more stuff added after I finish my big project. Definitely after I get moved!

Stay tuned!

Flower Hats.

Posted by Stephanie on June 18, 2009

Today my friend Maria, co-creator of R.I.P. Clothing, came over.  We decided to have a crafting day.  We were gonna break out the sewing machines and kick it old skool.  Turns out my sewing machine doesn’t work. Dumb.  Instead I taught Maria how to crochet!  We made hats, which is how I learned to read a crochet pattern, and how to make anything useful.  We used this pattern.

Yeah, we cute.

Needless to say, I think Maria picked it up really fast and did a great job! :) She seems excited to have another crochet day soon!

Note: Sweet, talking Shaun of the Dead figure in the back.  How’s that for a slice of fried gold?

Draw String Bag.

Posted by Stephanie on June 18, 2009

A week ago or so I decided I needed a little draw string bag to throw in my purse to carry my phone charger and some ear phones for work. I hunted and hunted and found a pattern I really liked: Work Your Way Up String Bag. I discovered it was way too big for what I needed but I liked the pattern and stuck with it anyway. Unfortunately I ran out of the main color yarn I was using (I swear, it looked like I had more than there was!) so I cut it short and now I used it to store all my trading card games (remember: I am a nerd) for transporting to friends’ houses! :)
